Atlantic City Shockers NEWS Pre-season action recap (9/7/2007): Shockers: 7 / Army: 0 Mercy rule applied: 22.13 regulation time 1st half
SHOCKERS ARE BACK!!! (Sept. 6th, 2007) Tip Seaman Park, Tuckerton, NJ Shockers won the Toss and took the ball. QB Scotty "2 Hottie" Burzynski threw one deep to "Mac Rob" for a TD on the first play. Scotty never saw Army in the backfield with the 900lb of "Armageddon Ed", Meatball and Big Ray. Scotty went three for four passing with over 220 yards, three touchdown passes and a fifteen yard run. The defence, led by Town Beef veteran "Pacman", held the Army 0 to 1 first down. "Pacman" led the charge with five tackles, five pancakes, two assist tackles and an interception for a touchdown. The Big Man and team co-captain "Meatball" Aiuto had four tackles, two assisted tackles and a forced fumble that cornerback Ron Brown brought back for a TD. Newcomers Tom R. and Dan F. made tackles and sacks look easy and made The Army pay for every inch. A big impact was made by J.P. with two interceptions (1 ranback for a TD) and a sack. He also had two touchdowns on offense. Rounding out the new squad is Idris who had three tackles for the day, all for negative yardage. The Shockers beat out a hungry young small army today and wish them luck this season. They are tough guys with heart and have an athletic big man who was hard to bring down. If they can maintain a full roster, they will shock some teams this season.
